HARMONY

What began as a flood of indigo ink became the essence of a ‘cloudscape’ over sea or land. A harmony of simple linear marks and the setting sun. Offering, perhaps, a moment of internal harmony.

Painted with genuine indigo and Winford Red Ochre on heavy watercolour paper.

Presented in a beautiful wooden Ash frame. Image 12cm x 12cm. Frame 24cm x 24cm

Framed £45, unframed £35

WINTER DUSK

A flood of blue woad, was gently coaxed into an ethereal, magical winter ‘treescape’, suggestive of the land around me. This time of year is magical, especially at the dusk time of day.

Painted with genuine Somerset Woad, harvested from my garden and processed in my kitchen.

Presented in a beautiful wooden Ash frame. Image 12cm x 12cm. Frame 24cm x 24cm

Framed £45, unframed £35

PEBBLE MANDALA I

Mandalas have been painted for centuries as a means to allow a moment of quiet and meditation for both the artist and the viewer. When I paint my clusters of pebbles I become very present and very grounded. I always hope the viewer feels the same. They are made through the gradual, at first random, layering of my pigments. Only when the layers are complete do the pebbles and their individual details begin to emerge.

Painted with Somerset Ochres, with touches of Devon Chalk and my own made Copper Oxide. The surface is 150 year old Westonbirt Arboretum Ash. A tree that had to be felled is given new life. Image 15cm x 15cm. Frame - black or natural 20cm x 20cm.
