The Severn Estuary tide drifts in and out. Depending on the sky and the weather conditions different bands of colour appear on the surface of the water. These horizontal bands have a quiet, meditative quality.
These paintings aim to communicate this concept through the quiet layering of bands of natural pigment colour to create a sense of stillness and calm. The circular paintings add a somewhat intriguing dimension.
